Fire Extinguisher Course  (FEC 001)

This fire extinguisher training course enables your staff to identify and safely use the correct fire extinguisher to extinguish small fires in the workplace. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, staff are required to be trained in use of fire fighting equipment.

Training can be conducted at client premises or at our training venue in central Norfolk which is 30 minutes from Norwich and Kings Lynn.  

(All live fire training conducted at a client’s premises will be risk assessed. With the agreement of the customer an area equivalent to four car park spaces will be made available for the practical.)

Learning Outcomes:

  • Module 1: Introduction
  • Module 2: Chemistry of Fire
  • Module 3: Classes of Fire
  • Module 4: Types of Fire Extinguishers
  • Module 5: Using a Fire Extinguisher
  • Module 6: Practical Use of Extinguishers on Live Fire (including chip pan fire demonstration)

  • Delivery Method: Theory and Practical Training (2 hours)
  • Prerequisite: None
  • Awarding Body: APF Safety Services Ltd
  • Assessment: Multiple choice test paper and practical skills
  • Certification: Certificate of Training will be issued upon successful competition

About our Trainers Qualifications and Experience:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Education & Training
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety
  • BAFE Qualified Fire Extinguisher Technician
  • Institute of Fire Engineers Approved Fire Safety Trainer (IFE)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in conducting fire safety training
