Portable Appliance Testing Course (PAT 001)
Portable Appliance Testing is an electrical safety test that is carried out on all electrical appliances with a plug. Hardwired electrical items does not require PAT testing as they aren’t portable and don’t have a plug. The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 places a legal responsibility on employers, organisations, schools, landlords, charities and the self employed to take reasonable steps to ensure that no danger results from the use of portable electrical equipment. This means all portable appliances at your place of work have to be regularly tested to ensure they are safe to use.
This PAT Testing course seeks to provide delegates who may be required to conduct portable appliance testing ‘in house’ within the company with the knowledge and skills to safely conduct inspections. Our course follows the IET Code of Practice (Currently 4th edition). Training can be conducted at clients premises or at our training venue in central Norfolk which is 30 minutes from Norwich and Kings Lynn.
